.info Price: $2500 Off Topix Bucks (price includes transfer to your godaddy account)



.us Price: $4000 Off Topix Bucks (price includes transfer to your godaddy account)

Notes:

You will need a GoDaddy account to receive the domain. If you do not have one, click Create Account on http://godaddy.com (it is totally free to create an account there). I will need your Customer # or login name and email address associated with your account to complete the transfer. Once transferred, you will find the domain in your GoDaddy Domain Manager under Pending Account Changes or Pending Transfers.



You may request one domain every three months.



We will not accept requests for warez, hate, adult or illegal sites. We reserve the right to reject domain requests for any reason (at our discretion). One year after domain purchase, you will have to renew it if you wish to continue to use it. We will not pay for future renewals on your domain(s) but renewal fees are usually very cheap.



If we do not have the funds to purchase domains, we will start up a waiting list or temporarily close the store. Donations from generous members to fund Off Topix's Domain Store are appreciated (but not required), if interested you may donate here.

I didnt really clarify anything. I quoted parts of the 1st post because it said more than once that you'd pay with Off Topix Bucks.

Personally I would have used Namecheap instead of GoDaddy, but this is great stuff! I never expected Off Topix to do such a great thing like this

You can buy a domain once every 3 months. However if you intend to buy domains just to resell them, I would consider that taking advantage of the service and would probably reject requests. The intended purpose is to provide members with their own domain to use on their own sites.

You can host it wherever you want. Im just buying a domain.

Buying a domain AND paying for hosting for everyone would bankrupt me.

There is free hosts out there. Wether it be a free forum host (like http://www.forumotion.com/) or a free blog host (like http://wordpress.com) or a free web host (like http://www.000webhost.com/)
 
This sounds awesome and x10hosting is a lot more reliable for free hosting compared to 000webhost just to take note.
 
Sounds great. May use this in the future. I don't really need a .info domain though.

This is a great idea and will encourage members to post lots. Do you plan on adding support for .com's in the future? I'd be happy to purchase 2 .coms/orgs/nets (I will pay Godaddy for them, you sell them for Off Topix bucks) if you come up with a price.
 
I plan on just providing whatever domain's are on sale at the moment as I cannot afford to be buying .coms and .nets for everyone.
 
Orion has purchased a .us domain with his Off Topix Bucks.
