Should Old people be allowed to drive? And I mean old to the point where senses are impaired. Driving too slow can be just as dangerous as driving too fast. It is very frustrating to get stuck behind an old driver who’s depth perception is all screwed up.

So what do you think?

Old people should be allowed the same rights and the young?

Elderly drivers have the same right to be driving as you and I do. The only thing I think would be beneficial for everyone's safety is that they should be road tested when renewing their license.

If senses are impaired then no they should not be driving.

Things like this can happen:

Retesting every 5 years is the way forward and not just for older drivers either.

The fact of the matter is that most road deaths are caused by younger drivers.

Younger drivers are impaired by stupidity unlike old drivers who are impaired by failing vision, slow response time, etc etc. Both are equally as deadly though.

As Jazzy says, people should be tested upon license renewal to see, once again, if they are fit for the road, regardless of age.

The other day, there was a car accident and was blocking one whole lane on the road. The car started to smoke and fire ignited, but yet there was this old lady who stopped right behind it and started honking and telling it to movie. I'm guessing she was blind? How do you not see the smoke coming out of the car and realize it's been in a crash? Dumb old lady even had trouble hearing people yelling at her and telling her to go around.
