I read one of the newspaper articles about this, but it seemed to be written from a rather sexist point of view. The tagline was (paraphrasing since I can't recall entirely what it was, nor what paper it was) claims it is unbelievable US men's number 1 beaten
To add to that, the US just can't accept someone is better than them. The US exec. director of the World Swimming Coaches Association is now claiming that he believes the Chinese are using genetic manipulation to win.
