Appalling footage has emerged of a one-month-old baby boy strapped to a steering wheel.

The short clip was uploaded by the baby’s parents and quickly went viral quickly in Taiwan and neighbouring China.

Wang Wei-Jun, the director of the Taiwanese Committee for the Improvement of Children’s Rights, said: ‘What the video shows does not seem as if it is intentional abuse of the child, although I think it’s fair to say that the parents are a bad example for others and that the activity is certainly dangerous.’

Looks like abuse to me!

What do you think?

The child is not being physically abused and he doesn't seem to be in any distress; however, you should NOT do this to your child considering the possibility something bad could happen, especially at such a young age as they are still developing physically. I don't quite know what to classify this as other than a complete lack of sense and ignorance from the parents.

What she said.

If they strap him to a steering wheel, I wonder what other 'fun' things they do to him. Sorry, this is abuse in my book.

What the hell is wrong with people?

Question.

If the vehicle in the video was being driven, and it didn't appear to be but it is hard to tell, but IF it were, and it hit something, and the airbag went off.....

LOL!

You think it's funny that the baby could be killed by the air bag?

I don't think they were driving , they may have been just playing around.

Of course not. Its even silly to ask. I think he was trying to be funny. And if he wasn't the way he wrote it made it funny to me at least. I think this younger generation gets to shocked and offended about everything. They were not driving. The dad was not doing anything DANGEROUS with the child and it is a whole lot hoopla of anger for nothing.

Absolutely shocking. I'd adopt the child to save him from that cruelty.

If the car was not moving yes I do disagree.

I'll adopt him! :(

I don't think he needs to be taken away from his parents (if this was a isolated incident).  They need to be taught how to act right around a baby.
