Have you ever had one? How did you deal with this person? How were they stalking you?

actually yes, I just left another site because someone would not leave me be. Every time, as soon as I logged on the PMs would come, post declaring her love for me, but what started recently was if I responded to someone else's post, and not one of hers... the PM would get all crazy, even to the point where she knew ever single post I replied to, and how I replied compared to how I would reply to her.
it is feck'n exhausting, so despite having a number of friends there, I have left for now.

only if i were more popular, then i could get one for myself... :cool:

I think that maybe it would be a very different experience for a woman, but for my it just became more annoying and outweighed the benefit of going on the site.

The nice thing about the web is that if you don't give too much personal information it is easy enough to get away from it.

just put her on ignore, boom, problem's solved...

you're welcome... (;

that'll be $20 please and thank you... :P

Haven't had one online. But if someone were to stalk me, I'd just ignore everything he sends me via PM. Btw most stalkers end up pretending to be other people with the sole intention of fooling their victims.

I've had someone try to mimic me, creating a false character on a forum using several of my personal details. Even going as far as using information they learned about my child and using it in their own fake backstory. Which didn't sit well with me at all. :rolleyes:

Scary stuff especially when it involved your daughter.

I think pathetic is a better word.

@Nebulous, who wants to be you? :P

only joking but seriously someone was trying to be you online? :S

that's crazy person status...

i've heard people creating their own characters or personas online...

A couple of teenagers took a liking to me on a flash gaming/social website, and made mimic/troll accounts of my username. It ended pretty quickly , due to a little techno-wizardry and a little help from somebody who knew them but wasn't into the whole trolling thing, I simply announced their full names, as well as the name of their school, in a chatroom of ~200 people.

Never saw them again.
