Depends on the price; some are good for the price. Others, not so much. Are you willing to pay a little more for organic or fair trade coffee?
Why or why not?

I think, more often than not, it's just an extra label to bump the price up, but in some cases it can mean something.I wonder if organic is any better for you? Do they put chemicals or additives in regular coffee that aren't in the organic ones?
I also think its just cash grab sometimes. But what do I know?I think, more often than not, it's just an extra label to bump the price up, but in some cases it can mean something.
Yep, absolutely!I also think its just cash grab sometimes. But what do I know?
That doesn't surprise me, slap an organic label on it and it's just as awful as the 'awful' stuff...Coming from a farming town, I learned that many organic pesticides are horrifying. And while I am no chemist on what is worse for your body, I generally don't pay extra for the same product that is also grown with chemicals that will kill you if you ingest them directly. Fair trade is something I like to see on products, but I never looked into it much myself so I can't say if it is a valuable human rights label or just something that companies buy a label from.
Although, my coffee is the bulk Folgers from Sam's Club and that has none of these labels lol.

Sadly the consumer-facing organic pesticides are generally awesome, like soap and neem oil, but on the industrial side it turns into an FDA nightmare of Organic-Approved chemicals and all sorts of chemical names. They still have health effects and some often kill beneficial insects and animals worse than non-organic as they can't be chemically designed to kill certain things. It really just comes down to what stuff they use and how much you can trust companies as both sides have very good and very bad options to choose from.I didn't know that. For some reason I thought organic meant there was no pesticides or any chemicals of any kind being brought near the food.![]()
Interesting, I suppose nothing is safe unless you grow it yourself!Sadly the consumer-facing organic pesticides are generally awesome, like soap and neem oil, but on the industrial side it turns into an FDA nightmare of Organic-Approved chemicals and all sorts of chemical names. I don't drink coffee anymore. Personally, I feel that it messes with my sleep disorder and causes me to crash the more I drink.
