So my daughter's friend (the neighbor girl) and my daughter were playing all day...

My daughter was playing with a toy, the other girl took the toy from her and ran out back. I got up to go investigate when I heard all the shouting. I went out back and my daughter was crying SHE TOOK MY TOY AND WONT GIVE IT BACK!!! and the other girl was saying ITS MY TURN TO PLAY WITH IT, SHE HAD IT ALL DAY AND WONT SHARE!!

I took the toy and put it up and said that nobody can play with it. Then I told them if they fight over a toy again, then nobody gets to play with anything. So after that they were fine.

If you are a parent (or have to be in charge of other people's kids sometimes), how would you deal with other people's kids? How would you act when they are acting up? ...Maybe if you were babysitting and talking to the kid's parents wasnt an option at the moment..

Depends on the age of the child.

I'd kick them off my lawn!

What if you were babysitting..

or your kids wanted to play with them, then you would be the bad guy for getting rid of their friends.

I watch my cousins here and there, but I've watched them along with a couple other kids who were friends with their parents, who were going out that night. See, my cousins know I don't mess around. I try to be funny, cut up with them, and have a good time, but if you cross the line or don't obey me, I have a little to no tolerance level for misbehavior, because I always make it clear the first time what I expect. Okay, so here's the situation, we're about to watch a movie, in hopes of them going to sleep, and we made popcorn and gave them each their own bowl. After I left the room for a few minutes and came back, a popcorn fight had begun. I immediately told my cousins that the movie is off until this mess is picked up, and I guess their friends knew I was serious about the movie not coming back on until the mess was picked up. So, after they picked it up, we watched the movie. It worked out good.

I set an example out of my cousins, and they picked up on the memo.

Who said they could stay behind?

My dad once told me that his dad would often kick my dad's friends out of the house when they made a lot of noise. And when I mean kick out of house I actually mean that

In that instance, I would probably do what you did. The toy goes up, and you girls learn to play nicely or your friend goes home.

I may also give them a 'time out' not in a punishment way though. Maybe have them come in for koolaid or cookies or something. Take them out of that situation, so they each have a chance to cool off.
