Overprotective of other kids?

Ive seen people being over protective of their own kids but doing it to complete stranger's kids? Today me and my daughter were in the pool at the gym. There was another parent there with his kid and he had the kid wearing a life jacket and even those floaty things for the arms. He kept looking at my kid to make sure she was ok (she wasnt wearing any flotation devices). She said I am going to see how far I can walk out before it gets too deep. and she walked out until it was too deep, turned around and walked back. I could see the panic on his face during that. Then she started getting out of the pool and jumping in from the edge. He said to me arent you going to watch your kid? I said I am watching her, dont you see me looking at her right now? he said You're not doing a good job, you are letting her do whatever she wants! She might drown or something! I said She's fine. I am watching her, if she gets into trouble, I'll save her. Why dont you watch your own kid, who looks ridiculous by the way, and mind your own buisness! he did not say anything and just left us alone. He went back to ruining his own kid's fun time at the pool.

Indeed. He could have voiced his opinion in the form of a friendly suggestion and I would have responded more politely.. Oh well.



I told a co worker this story and he said His kid is probably an idiot so he probably assumes all other kids are just as accident prone. I thought that was pretty funny.
