Paid to do chores?

In an effort to teach financial responsibility, some families pay their children to do chores. Shouldn't some jobs be done just because you're part of a family?

I was never paid as a child to do my chores. Nor did I specifically want to be paid to do them. I did them because it helped to keep the house clean, and because I was expected to.

I get paid to do stuff around the house and I like it. I also don't really have the feeling that have an obligation to do that stuff because I'm part of the family. But that obviously doesn't include regular chores like cleaning your room.

I don;t think any one should be paid to do chores. Around your household it's your house you keep it up? You live in it, help out in it, you eat, sleep, shit, & Bathe. It's pretty much the job of living in a house/

I think it's kind of learning early to earn that money, you have to work for it. Even though children want to earn that dollar by doing the chores, as adults you need to do your assigned tasks to continue having the job and getting your paychecks.

This thread really made me laugh. If anyone should be paid it should be the stay at home parents. They should get a pay check and be entitled to all the benefits that are given to parents employed outside the home.
