This is exactly what angry parents did when an Ohio high school “challenged” its students to walk in the proverbial footsteps of Muslims.
According to Jihad Watch, Mason High School sent a notice to parents encouraging their female students to wear a hijab to school for the whole day.
The email reads, “Mason High School is blessed to have a unique and diverse student body. In order celebrate this diversity and promote open-mindedness, the Muslim Student Association is inviting all female students to participate in “A Covered Girl Challenge” which will allow students to wear a headscarf for the whole school day. Afterwards, there will be a discussion (open for all students, male & female) held in Z223 to share experiences and reflections.”
The school’s encouragement of their Western students to don the headscarf is not only an effort to glamorize a symbol of medieval oppression, it is clear favoritism of the Islamic religion above all others, regardless of the usual cry for separation of church and state. Surely the school can’t really believe that celebrating and supporting only one religion is being diverse.
As convincing an argument that the assignment seeks to create open-mindedness and tolerance among their students, parents weren’t about to buy the weak attempt at uplifting the supremacist ideology that is Islam.
Instead of cowering before the left’s usual chastising of bigotry and “racism” (what race is Islam, again?), parents called and emailed the school immediately, expressing their concern with a public school’s dressing up of a religion that’s responsible for the slaughter of over 270 million non-Muslims since its establishment.
