Participate or die

I was just checking one of my email accounts and seen this:

Dear Nebulous,



We have recently written to you with regard to your lack of

participation/activity on -Edit-



There has been no change in activity from your part since that mail. We

would like to make you aware that we consider deleting your account as you

appear to be no longer interested in the community of -Edit-.



In case you just have misplaced your log in details, please find them

below:

-Edit-



We look forward to your participation on -Edit- shortly.

This was like the 2nd or 3rd email they sent me apparently. Threats don't make me want to go and participate on that forum to save my account from being put to death. Go ahead and delete it. I should be able to login at my leisure and participate whenever participating is convenient for me. Being pressured into being active on a forum wont work on most people.



Ever got one of these sorts of emails? How does it make you feel?

I received one of these not long ago. I replied back: Your forum has become Death Valley so please put me out of my misery and kill me off too.

I get these emails ALL the time. Being a packager too doesnt help. I quite frankly don't care, If i'm not active, then threatening me with my account being deleted really isn't going to make me want to go back anyway.

lol if you are inactive then you aren't going to care about your account on the forum. Perhaps they should consider just why people leave in the first place instead of making threats. It just might bring in better results. I honestly can't imagine a decent forum doing this as no person of any level of intelligence would consider it.

I hardly ever get anything like this. Its dumb if they do that. Cause if I got something like that, it wouldn't exactly encourage me to come back.

I'm impressed when they send those emails, to be honest! How do they send it to me directly? =O Do they really care?

I think I got one of these sort of e-mails a long while ago. I ignored it and I'm guessing my account was deleted. I don't see a point in really sending these sort of e-mails out unless you're trying to weed out any bots who may have slipped passed your security.

I get emails like this sometimes and if it's a forum I never cared for in the first place, I'll think, well, if you want to delete my account, go for it! Not a very nice way to inform someone that they've been inactive for a while.
