On a night that was intended to mark the return of Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose from a devastating knee injury, Pacers All-Star Paul George suffered a serious leg injury during Team USA's exhibition game at the Thomas & Mack Center on Friday night in Las Vegas.

Early in the fourth quarter, George attempted to block a shot by Rockets guard James Harden but landed awkwardly, his leg buckling against the basket stanchion. While the extent of damage was unclear immediately after the injury occurred, the severity of damage to George's leg was immediately apparent, with teammates and coaches unable to mask their concern.

Those who have a severe reaction to traumatic injuries should NOT watch that.

Over the years I've covered news and sports, including numerous injuries, the way his leg gives way under him is very disconcerting to view.

And, nevermind his statements about how he'll be back when the Bulls start the season.

He'll be lucky to ever play again.

Can't agree with you more.

Do players get paid to play for team USA? If not, what's the point of having your best players risk injury for these types of games. Maybe they should use college players instead?

I saw this on YouTube the other day, such a tragedy. Hope he has a speedy recovery! He's a great player. Sucks for all your dreams to come to a screeching halt, just like that..
