Pen Pals

Pen pals (or penpals or pen friends) are people who regularly write each other, in particular in the case of snail mail. A penpal relationship is often used to practice writing and reading in a foreign language, improving literacy, to learn more about other countries and life-styles, and just to reach out and communicate with a fellow human being. Some people remain penpals for only a short time, while others continue to exchange letters and presents life-long. Some penpals eventually arrange to meet in 'real-life'. Penpals come in all ages, nationalities and cultures. Being part of a penpal network can be a way to gain a valuable understanding of the world, and an appreciation for cultures and lifestyles very different to your own.

Last year in my Spanish 3 class, my Spanish teacher got email addresses from her nieces in Argentina and each of us were pen pals with them.

Was fun...and helped learn Spanish. XD



I loveee being a penpal...I had one about 2 years ago from...I don't remember where, but we talked for a long time and then lost touch, but recently got back in touch on Facebook.

Annnd about 5 years ago, I was a member on this forum and had a really good friend on there...after she left the forum and after I left it, we emailed each other and kept in touch...lost contact and got back in contact after a few months...lost contact again and I found her on Facebook and we messaged each other...then lost in touch again and then she added me on Facebook a few months ago. XD
