Are you a pet sitter? Or have you ever hired someone to pet sit for your precious babies?

My neighbors used to ask me to come over a few times a day and take care of their animals and they've since moved. It was hard because there were 3 dogs, 2 cats and a guinea pig. They never had enough hay for their pig, so I'd bring some over from my daughter's pig's stash. I don't think people realize that guinea pigs need hay to be available all the time. That thing lived a long life though!

We've been doing a lot of pet sitting lately. We've had someone else's pets at our house every week for the last couple of months. Mainly dogs, but a couple cats too.

Are they nervous by not having their owners there?

When my daughter brings her bulldog over for us to watch, the poor thing, even though she loves us, wants her mommy.

Yeah, dogs can be very annoying about that. :P

It's good that they love their owners, but they make it hard for us to sleep at times.

Did they give you some of their clothes so the dogs can smell them? We used to leave our blanket at my parent's house when they dogsat our dog.

No, I have never hired anyone for oet sitting and I have never been a pet sitter myself. We have a cat in our house and it seems like it can take care of itself pretty well under certain circumstances.

I will be getting a dog and my grandma will dogsit for 2d a week when I'm in the office. As it will be regularly, I suppose the dog will get used to it soon enough. When my grandma will die (she's older), I won't take another dog until I retire. I would have postponed until retirement had my grandma not lost her last dog this year and not wanted to take a new one for fear of the dog outliving her (she's all on her own now, living independently in her house still, and not even a dog around).

Pet sitting is a great thing to do. However, you need to be a professional if you want to be a professional pet sitter. This is essential. You must have knowledge about cats and dogs.
