Have you ever been to a photography studio?

Had your picture professionally taken?

They used to be everywhere (at the mall, etc).

Do you think photography studios are a dying business?

I've been to a few studios and been in some dark rooms, they're SO interesting!

We had family pictures done in a studio one time when I was a kid. Yes, it was in a mall. :D I don't remember much about it besides posing for the photos and the big lights.

I think actual studios have definitely taken a hit because i'm hearing a lot about photographers just going mobile now and having home-based businesses but I believe there will still always be a studio necessity for occasions like newborn and holiday photos, where people don't want to DIY it. I'm almost sure that they can easily keep raking in the big bucks with that.

i've had family photos done in the past, k-mart for the win

I know a lot of people who get professional photographers to do their family and/or baby pictures, but they do it on location somewhere. I can't remember the last time I saw studio pics from any of my friends.

I am actually a model and do both print and runway modeling. I've been to many, many professional photography studio, I've had my picture taken professionally numerous times whether it be on runway, at a photoshoot and for magazines.

I don't think photography studios is a dying business though I don't think there as much of need for them as there once was.
