What topic really pisses you off when it's brought up?

none. it's the direction that the discussion takes that pisses me off, especially when the conservatives and liberals or christians and atheists start in on something and both sides are talking nonsense.

Religion is the topic of choice. Whenever there's supposedly a 'discussion' on religion, the outcome is never pretty. It becomes very heated and no one is going to 'convert' or 'prove' things to people who have their own beliefs on this subject.

That's why I refuse to get involved with this topic.

i love discussing religion and politics, but only with people who can disagree agreeably. it gets way too ugly when people take religion and politics personally, especially when i start injecting a radical viewpoint that neither side agrees with, like my position on zionist jews and the state of israel. us anti-zionist jews were a very tiny minority until just a few years ago when israel's brutality started waking more jews up to how wrong it was.

When it's something heating and difficult to be controlled. I've seen topics that DID escalate to a point where some people gave up on their POV's.

that doesn't always mean that the discussion has broken down into a flame war. sometimes people abandon their POV because they've been convinced by somebody that their position is invalid. i love it when us monkeys in the middle shoot wingers on either flank from their ridiculous perches and bring them back to some rational outlook on critical issues.

I have to agree about religion, it has been the many a downfall of boards. It never has in my experience ended in a good way. I won't get involved either

whenever the topic involves drama between 2 members. finger pointing, a free for all festival of playing the blame game. usually, im thickheaded and let it go in one ear and out the other. but push my buttons hard and watch the expletives fly

i've learned to scroll right past that like it wasn't there and focus only on the people being rational and relevant.

it's not worth the effort or the objections from other readers to get in the middle of anything too stupid. i won't say anything until somebody has made such an outrageous statement of false fact or sick , fascist perspective on reality that i can't keep quiet. i won't go back and forth more than a couple of times with nimrods, drama queens or dipshits before i stop responding.

if anybody is trying to get other people angry, i'll have nothing to do with it any more. don't feed the trolls. they want you to be angry.

i won't go near it unless people are friendly and they're well moderated. partisan politics is plenty, thanks. religious discussion needs to be sedate or i won't play.

Religion is a topic that I typically cannot stand when it's brought up. It's not that I mind hearing about religion or discussing my viewpoints; rather, as Jazzy mentioned, the outcome is never ideal. It seems no one nowadays can have a mature, civil conversation when religion is at the heart of the discussion. Someone's feelings is guaranteed to get hurt, and flaming will pursue.

i rarely find any i can tolerate. the religion forums at thoughts.com are just free for alls of misinformed nonsense from all parties. this group was formed by some orthodox bundists and we're doing the best we can to keep it from getting too crazy. we're not getting into the really hot theological arguments, just focusing on how zionism and judaism are at odds, with a similar view toward islamic and christian militancy being at odds with the true practice of their faiths.

The topic of why I am not yet teaching. Typically had by me and my mother.

Religion, politics, parts of my past..

I've never done anything majorly wrong in my life, I've just had a difficult life full of obstacles, so I really don't like it when people remind me of all the hard times I've had to go through to get where I am now. I mean I'm glad in a way I went through the horrible things that I have because they made me who I am today. I just don't like to be reminded how depressing, difficult, and sad my past was. Usually when people bring up my past I'll hint them with "Well I'm glad it's over and I've moved passed it. So how is your life going?" I don't like focusing on the negative or depressing stuff.
