:banghead: Is anyone else fed up with poker on sports channels?

It is NOT a sport, in my opinion.

There is some skill involved, however, you are correct, there is too much of it.

And what is worse, ESPN evidently thinks there should be MORE of it:

Given the ongoing debate regarding poker's place in sport and its international flavor, I suppose it was only inevitable that I would be asked to do a column about whether it has a place in the Olympics. The question struck me as a silly one, but that didn't stop me from asking some 50 big shots in the industry for their thoughts. Most of them thought it was silly also, but keep in mind that most of these answers came with the respondents trying to keep things polite and respectful. Here's just a sampling of what those folks had to say:

If these sports channels want people to change the channel, then they've succeeded. Solution: make a poker channel. :P

There is an art and skills to be a great poker player. It is not, imo, a sport. Poker is a game and has no business being shown on sports channels.

I always like watching the world series of poker when it was on Sportscenter. I used to be really into watching and playing poker. But i do agree that there is no need to take up all that time on sport channels just to watch people play cards for hours.

Its annoying. There is no way I ever want to watch it, especially on ESPN or something similar. Its ridiculous.
