An officer had to smash through a car window to save a sweat-soaked toddler from a red hot car.
A Bergen County Sheriff officer rescued the little boy, who was locked inside a minivan parked at New Jersey Costco.
Hero cop Richard Carrion said: ‘Before I even approached the vehicle, I could hear the child screaming and crying.’
He used a baton to smash the rear window so he could rescue the child from the sweltering vehicle.
‘Knowing the severity of the temperature outside, you can only imagine what it was like inside,’ Carrion added.
In footage of the incident (above), the kid’s screaming can be heard from a crowd gathering outside.
A man can be heard saying: ‘Don’t cry, we’re gonna get you out.’
The distressed boy is carried from the car by Officer Sonya Vekier, who said: ‘He’s soaking wet.’
The boy’s mum returns to her vehicle about a minute later and apologies.

God, how many stories have I read about either small kids, or animals, being left in baking hot temperatures in cars this summer! Are people really so thick, or do they just simply not care enough?!
