Now, slightly off topic, if you could be dictator for a day (with full power over everything except the length of your term and the amount of terms you get), would you do it and fix all of that?

Cut the military-industrial complex in half, increase peaceable foreign aid, replace medicare/medicaid with a public option that would cover the vast majority of Americans, legalize marijuana, make the voting age 16, drinking age 16, driving age 18, drastically reduce our nuclear stockpile and increase pressure on other nations to do the same, initiate serious subsudies and initiatives to jumpstart American manufacturing and research into renewable energy resources (I'm talking billions and billions of dollars), pass massive infastructure package including money for high speed rail, make more smaller tax brackets and increase the top marginal rate, provide funding for embryonic stem cell research, increase financial aid for students, increase earned income tax credit...



Oh and I'd get myself an Audi R8 ABT Spyder.

The first thing I'd do is to fire every elected politician at every level of government and ban them from ever holding any office again.



Then I'd look over T's list and go from there.
