Marriage is between a man and a woman not a man and women.

I didn't say it would hurt anyone. I'm all for traditional marriage.

I agree with no. But if your religious and your religion says that its ok, and everyones cool with it and you beleive in it, then why not?

I don't know, if all the participants are willing and okay with it than it's not going to hurt anyone, right?

I agree with you.

I don't really know how many people would agree to marrying multiple partners but if it makes them happy and it's what they believe in? I believe that there are a couple of religions that support this type of tradition just as much as we (generally) support most of our holidays. I don't really understand the traditional marriage bit, considering this has been allowed before in countries and still is.

But if they're both ok with it I don't really see the problem...

And anyone who dares bring out some religious argument should think again 'cause quite a few of these guys seem to have had more than one wife...

Wait Nebulous, if we're going for traditional marriage then wouldn't polygamy be perfectly fine? After all, biblical figures such as Abraham had several wives & mistresses.

Eh, I'm not sure. Polygamy is often found in cults and stuff where the wives are completely brainwashed and stuff. But with that polygamy itself is not the problem I suppose.

I think what it really comes down to is Constitutional law. As I've said very many times, when I make a legal argument I am refering to American law. Frankly I don't care enough to research the laws of England or any other nation. Under the US Constitution there's really no right of the federal government to legislate any kind of marriage laws, polygamist or otherwise.

what about a woman and men? if we make it ok for a man to have multiple wives, than can a woman have multiple husbands? what about husbands and wives, for the bisexual people out there?
