Preferred Hour Format

Yep, you guessed it. Do you prefer 12-hour format over 24-hour or the opposite case?

12-hour format, as it's all I've used my whole life.

24-hour here. A few years ago, some people thought I was a pussy for using the 12-hour format myself. Proved them that I CAN read the 24-hour one too - but I've abandoned the AM/PM system since then.

Also that it complies with the ISO 8601. And I like to use it a lot.

12-hour. It's what I grew up with and had to get used to when I went to college. The classes were in 24-hour format.

Strange logic there. Its all anyone uses here and most of us aren't pussies.

I got so used to using the 24 hour clock for work that I still use it when referring to an event that begins as a time that has about equal probability of being either AM or PM, such as meeting a friend for fishing at 5, because if one or the other of us says 5 AM one or the other will remember it as PM and either be 12 hours early or late so I usually say Zero Five Hundred or Seventeen Hundred to avoid all confusion, especially since the friend I'm talking about talks too much and uses run on sentences, like this one, until you are left feeling a little breathless and forget what the subject was to begin with.

Oh, by the way.... there are times when I tell time in Event Hours.

Beginning with Zero Hour when a given thing starts and continuing until its natural conclusion.

Handy to be able to do when you have to keep track of stuff.

I prefer 24 hour since it's what we use but I'm perfectly fine with the 12 hour format too.

I grew up with the 12 hour format, so I'm more used to that than the 24 hour format. I learned to read the 24 hour format at a young age though, just in case I ever needed it, and I've grown more used to it as I've gotten older.
