Marissa Holcomb, who is pregnant with her fourth child, was fired after refusing to repay the $400 stole during the robbery at a branch of Popeye’s restaurant in Channelview, Texas.

During the raid, a man armed with a handgun stormed the restaurant and forced her to empty the cash registers.

But she remained resolute and refused to pay back the cash when she was faced with the ultimatum only 36 hours after the incident.

‘I told them I’m not paying nothing, I just had a gun to me. I’m not paying the money’, she explained.

‘I don’t think it’s right because now I’m struggling for my family because what I had to do to keep my life’.

She also spoke of her fear of not being able to find another job – as a result of her pregnancy.

‘I mean who’s gonna call me? I’m 5 months pregnant’, she added.

‘The fact is that I got robbed at gunpoint and it’s like nobody cares’.

However, a spokesman for the restaurant’s franchise owner explained that Holcomb was actually fired because she broke policy by leaving too much money in the till.[

Do you think she should pay back the money? Why/Why not?

I think it's ridiculous to expect this woman to pay the money. They should be happy she came out of that unharmed. Screw that place!

Yeahhh....she has no legal responsibility to pay back that money, especially considering she wasn't even the one who stole it. I hope she sues their asses (I'm assuming it's the franchise owner) and gets a hell of a lot more than $400 for her troubles.

Wait. What?

She is entitled to take the $400.00 (which the owner uses to pay for the food that's served, the electricity to prepare the food, the rent for the roof under which they serve the food, and the wages of those who bring the food to the patrons) because she thwarted someone else's attempt to

steal

that same $400.00?!?

Nahhhh...she should have returned it. Then, milked the publicity from doing such a brave, courageous thing and been on the receiving end of people's generosity when the money started flooding in after they learned that she did this while "being pregnant with her fourth child while struggling to make ends meet"; she would have received waaaaaay more than $400.00.
