Have you ever pretended to be a different gender on the internet? Ever encountered anyone who did it and confessed at some point?

Ive never done it myself, but some people have told me they have. Seems odd to me, but to each their own.

Never thought of it. I like to cahnge identity from time to time and start over fresh, but not often.

Had it happen once with a moderator of mine, but I never had any hard feelings towards he/she, because it was a good, reliable staff member, regardless of the gender.

Once upon a time... I PM'ed Nebulous acting as a girl once, being real flirtatious and silly with him, until I gave it away at the end and he had a good laugh. Erm.. I guess you could say I faked a gender, but it was only to punk Nebulous, therefore, it is completely justifiable. Right?..

In many ways my attitude is very male anyway apparently, so a lot of people think I'm a guy without me having to pretend.

Well, on the internet anyway.

Me and a friend pretended to be guys once for a drag party, real fun, even though it didn't look very realistic.

Remember I sued you for sexual harrassment and got 1 million dollars for pain and suffering?

I use too see them in the street (Men in dresess and make up) when I was younger but not anymore.

I never actually tried to fake my gender over the internet but quite a few people have confused me for the opposite gender until I finally told them my gender. I don't go around telling everyone on the internet my gender. I let them figure out if they really have the urge to know.

Nope. I'm me.

What I portray online, is hopefully very close to who I am online.

I see no point in smoke and mirrors.

I have never faked my gender, but there is one forum I belong to that my screen name is gender neutral--and my pic doesn't give it away either. Most people assume I am a man.

Years ago, I used to be a regular in chat rooms, before I decided I preferred forums. My username at the time had woman in it.....yes I am female if anyone's not sure.....and god did it attract the pervs, for being obviously female. I was constantly being PMd by idiots. So I changed it, and while I didnt think it was an especially male sounding name, lots of people seemed to assume I was male. I just went along with it. It stopped almost all of the pervs, and anyone who mattered either knew I was female, or I told them I was.

Yeah when i go on omegle and they ask age, sex and location i usually mess around with them. Then at the last minute tell them the truth, their reactions couldnt be funnier.

Yeah, but in the end it ended up being a girl sending the PMs. Right, Jay?
