What this is: This simple program that has thirty text boxes where you enter names of users. It then will randomly pick one of the thirty users and declare the winner.



Why: It's for simple evidence that you can post on a forum to show that the winner was chosen at random.



How: Fill out however many contestants participated in your event in the text box to the left of the Generate random winner button. You then simply press the Generate random winner button and a winner is chosen at random.

Could you give an event example where this method would be a fair way to chose a winner? Most contests I have ever created or participated in, there is a poll vote. The members of the forum vote for their favorite and then the winner is announced.
 
Computers have bad random generators though...

They're worse than humans except you don't notice because they're an awful lot faster.
