What are the pros & cons of renting movies through an online service?

What are the pros & cons of renting movies through a local rental store (like blockbuster)?

I don't like renting because it just seems like a waste of money. On the other hand, you have a large library of movie titles available to you at your fingertips for a small fee. I think the best renting situations are Redbox, Netflix, and your local library

Actually, depending on how well your local library is stocked - the local library is an underrated solution for media rental; a lot of people don't even know they can rent movies that they rent from Blockbuster, Netflix, et al. from their local libraries, and usually without the cost of the former choices. However, selection can be limited - I use Netflix and am largely satisfied with the service. It is more convenient than Blockbuster was, it integrates with my 360, the costs are less, and the selection is better. The customer service at the Blockbusters I've been to were also absolutely horrible, too. I don't really see any upside to Blockbuster in comparison to something like Netflix, and the performance on the market is showing it, I think.
