This reminds me of a twenty minute discussion those that chat at work had about whether they were 'sock, sock, shoe, shoe' or 'sock, shoe, sock, shoe'.
They have also been known to discuss whether they put their toast or bagel on a plate to put butter (or whatever) on it, or do they hold it in their hand to apply the spread.
I usually abstain with something of a growl and a trip down the hall. Or put on my headphones and listen to music.
Such discussions are what keep distilleries in business.
