Are you more concerned with the quantity of your posts or the quality of your posts

on the forums you are a member of?

I'm not concerned with either. I respond to each topic with whatever I feel like posting at the moment.. Sometimes I will write out a nice long paragraph with a lot of thought put into it, and other times I will just scribble out a short sentence. Depends on the topic and my mood at the moment.

Why do you concur?

I have 700 posts on my forum and still 9 users, and the posts are of somewhat good quality.

This topic is about YOUR personal posts on any random forums you are a member of. Not your forum's overall posts.

I concentrate more on quality. I didn't even know I had hit the 400's here on Off Topix, for example, until I looked over..

I think it depends on the type of thread that I'm replaying to and the posts already in the thread.

I respond to threads I'm interested in with the quality that's needed, but I'm never concerned about either.

Half and half, I like to post alot (to show people that I'm not dead), and I try to make my post's contain some good quality. I don't like to go overboard with by posting a post with over 5 sentences, because nobody is going to want to read that much D:

I don't make posts just to up my post count. It annoys me when some members on forums reply to a thread only using a smilie. I go for quality in the threads that interest me.

it depends on my mood i think

on one forum im nearly at 60k posts........i bet 10% of that is due to playing the silly forum 'games' which are nothing more than a way of boosting post count

in the past, post count was important at times.....once did 1k in under 80 hours

but it isnt now.......sometimes takes me @6 weeks to do a k

on another forum we dont have 'games' so it has to be relevant and quality

I personally don't care. But I know for a fact that the # of posts a forum has seriously impacts potential member registrations, stemming from my years of interaction on forums.

That is a damn shame, because I'd rank forums like The Infinity Program, and to a degree my own site (as well as Off Topix) over forums that drive themselves on their games, and controversy each day. I've seen forums in which their games forum drive about 85% of their total posts. These are the kind of forums I simply will not register @. Not my kind of thing
