Your quotes are very good. I agree with DrLeftover that you should try writing fantasy stories/poems. Do you think this is something you might do?

No.

Just strictly novels(and novellas)

Not interested in making up fantasy stories.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but unless you are writing a strict history- the life and times of John Adams, then it is a fantasy story. A work of fiction is 'fantasy'. Or as I was told by a relative once upon a time- a lie. (relax, the gentleman that told me that considered TV Guide good reading.)

A novel doesn't have to be sorcery and dragons to be fantasy.

It is just a matter of degree. You are still writing about people and things that do not exist and describing situations that are made up, even if it Could Be Real, such as a story about a soldier in WWII. Again, unless there was a real person that is being portrayed in your book, it is, fiction.

Here's one I thought up while thinking about stuff for Lullaby of the Dark..

The girl in the reflection of a mirror, lives a sorrowful existence in a prison without escape

Not as great as the others, but I like it and have considered adapting it into a short poem.
