For some reason, an iDevice from 2011 CAN run some memory-demanding games. I know this since I'm an iPad 2 user. But not planning on upgrading it.

Android 4.0+ not only needed an OpenGL ES 2.0-compatible GPU, but required an ARMv7 processor despite it not being mentioned in the requirements (it was included for 4.4 KitKat). One of the main reasons why Chrome can't be installed on 2.3 and lower (this includes CM-based 4.0+ ROM's ported for ARMv6 though!).

Both the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G had the same processor speed (412 Mhz ARM11-compatible CPU), but due to the former being an old device at the time of iOS 4's release, only the 3G version got it. But due to the lower processor speed, it wasn't 100% stable when it came to interface performance, affecting games too.

OpenGL ES 2.0 GPU's did make their place in ARMv6-compatible devices, but only a few of them run on those. It was first implemented on the iPhone 3GS which isn't ARMv6. Adreno 200 and VideoCore IV were the only ones to appear on older Android devices.

The Exynos 5433 chipset in the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 doesn't run in AArch64 mode, despite having four A57 and four A53 cores (both based on the ARMv8 architecture). Samsung is working on a better version of the SoC which will run in AArch64 mode fully, for the upcoming Galaxy S6.

Reicast is the only '6th generation gaming' emulator that only needs a 1GHz dual-core ARMv7 processor to run on Android. This isn't the case with Dolphin though, it needs OpenGL ES 3.0+, 2GB of RAM and preferably a 64-bit ARMv8 processor to run games at a decent speed.
