Rapunzels ponderings...

Good grief Durandal! I thought I wrote a lot!

Couple of points, just to be pedantic.

14. Why isn't phonetic spelled the way it sounds?

It isn't? [pho-/net-/ic-]

No, it isn't. Phonetically it should be pronounced Fonetiks.

29. Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?

Cotton is a plant, not an animal, unless you named your little Baa-Baa, Cotton.

Sheep grow wool, not cotton.

Nice answers though.

Well, exactly, that was my point. Cotton comes from a plant, while sheep have wool. Cotton shrinks, while wool doesn't, hence the non-shrinking of the sheep.

Wool does shrink, badly. Try putting a woollen jumper (sweater) in a hot wash. When it comes out it will only fit a Barbie doll, or in your case a G.I.Nebulous.

Ah, you'd be surprised regarding Barbie Dolls and G.I. Nebulouss (though the latter was invented somewhat near where I live...), there's a legendary story about some gender-equality organisation in the area in which I was raised in youth and there was a certain Barbie doll model, and a certain G.I. Nebulous doll model, they both would say various things...and the Barbie dolls unfortunately were programmed to say Math is hard!, while the G.I. Nebulous's were programmed to make some assault rifle type noise. This group went into the distribution centre for all of the major toy companies in the area and switched out the voice speakers in each doll, so the Barbie had a machine-gun sound and the G.I. Nebulous now said Math is hard! Commando Barbie is a tempting choice!

Lol! Did they sell many?

Well, the actual expected models sold fantastically! So, a lot of little girls and boys, lasses and lads, strange old men, and such ended up with the 'modified' dolls, expecting Barbie to lament the difficulty of mathematics (I sympathise, dear Barbie, just wait until you encounter A.I. Decision Processing Engine Design (seriously, I swear, it's made up maths...) courses...). When they opened up their Barbies, however, little girls were startled to hear the death-chatter of the M-249 SAW, while boys expecting to take the fight to Cobra, heard effeminate dispair about arithmetic...and so such established a legend.
