Do You Need a Reason to Be Kind?

Is it actually kindness if there’s a reason behind it? Does kindness require selflessness?

No. Just be kind, not that hard at all. For some, I suppose it's a chore because it's like they get out of bed being jerks.

tbh I don't need a reason to be kind in general but I do view it like, we're all on the planet together for a very limited time and should treat each other in a neighborly manner, kindness being one of the ways to do that. there's no need for me to create more bad energy bc there's plenty of it to go around. on the other hand, I am only used to people using kindness in return for a favor, and have gotten myself hurt a lot before realizing that was the way of life. I think that my kindness is true, because despite the unkind things that others have done to me, and some of the bitterness it created, I'm unwavering in my values of how I treat others.

…I guess that my reason would be that I cant imagine a reason to be unkind to anyone…if there is a reason to not feel comfortable to be around someone then don’t be around them but don’t be unkind…that isn’t necessary…
