Red Bull boss on Pirelli tyres: 'F1 nothing to do with racing any more'

I wonder how much they are per tire?

You know you watch too much F1 when:
-you are amazed when an on track pass for position happens under full course green.
-you know why the comments by the TV talking heads are nonsense.
-you wonder why the stewards didn't call a penalty for a pass on pit road, then stop yourself and mutter 'politics'.
-you laugh at the pit stops with twenty people or more standing around the car, but can explain why most of them are there (some of them remain a mystery only understood by people from McLaren).
-You chuckled at the reference to McLaren in that last statement and added "Mercedes" to the line.

I don't think it's really down to the tyres it's the drivers constantly driving over the kerbs - I mean look at the size of this!
Bearing in mind it was the same rear tyre on each blowout, that suggests that it's not the tyres as it would have been others too.
Same happens in BTCC, if you take to much kerb you're going to expect punctures. Drivers need to drive the cars better and preserve they're tyres. Silverstone guys have been saying it's not down to the kerbs, but then they would say that wouldn't they.
As for prices of tyres, I have read £4,000 per set. I know the BTCC tyres cost a fortune and have multiple sets, Don't know how many tyres each formula 1 team has per car at each race though.
And Formula 1 hasn't been about racing for many years. I find it really boring. Sunday's race was worth watching due to the blowouts, that's not good racing. Tin Tops are far more exciting!
