Reformatting HDD

How often do you reformat your harddrive? I've just done mine for the first time on this laptop... taking forever to get it back to how I like it.

Laptop and desktops - Whenever i reinstall an OS.

My other HDDs are reformatted when i change there use.

I only format a drive when it is absolutely necessary.

Windows - every 2 months or so



Linux - Only when the update to a new version was kind of glitchy.

I'll reformat my windows partition when I'm upgrading, but other than that I try not to reformat anything. It's just too much of a pain. That said, I do have another laptop that might need some attention and a good clean reinstall.

Only when i really need to, i try to stay away from reformatting my Hard drives. Unless my computer is running super slow an i know that it is not an hardware problem then i do so with a new installation of the OS

It's also good when you first buy a new computer or laptop if you don't want all that BS software it comes with.
