At what point do you realize a relationship needs to end?

It's tough to say. I think partners haven't done a self-check and been truly honest with themselves. I mean, "by playing victim" it might seem the relationship is hopeless and should end.

Relationships where I didn't love the woman and visa versa were bound to end. Actually, in those, no real love ever developed, so there was nothing to lose, no heartbreak.

I think the time to break up with someone is when you would rather walk away than take the time to work on the relationship. There are ups and downs in every relationship and nothing is constantly perfect, but when you think 'actually, I can't be bothered with this' is the time I think.

Keep in mind, this was before I met my hubby. The last boyfriend I had, it was getting to a point where I was seeing him less and less. So I broke up with him. He told me that he was playing a game on the computer when I would get online and see him on but he wouldn't respond when I'd try to talk to him. Everyone I knew kept telling me he was cheating on me, even though I was never able to prove it. Despite whether he was cheating on me or not, we rarely ever spent any time together and I didn't think that was very good. How are we suppose to get to know one another when we rarely see each other in the first place?

I wouldn't call it a "relationship", but rather the girl who was engaged to someone else but was having sex with me was just was a broken, emotionless shell of a person. I was even considering suicide since I didn't know what else to do. But I met someone else on-line and she opened my freaking eyes. I left town and we got together and it's been 15 years of bliss.

For me, it was when I realized that I was being mentally and emotionally abused. And then I had to also realize that it was going to be okay if I was single despite it being such a long time since I had been. In the end, it was worth leaving. I'm much better off than I was before.

I'm glad you were able to get out of that. A lot of people get trapped or think it's their fault and just continue the relationship.

When one realises a relationship is turning toxic that is the time to call it off. I have done that in quite a few cases

If there is no trust anymore, it is high time to end the relationship. There is no need to be connected to them.
