Do you prefer to rent your video games or buy them outright? I added a few more.

I buy mine. I don't like to rent. Before buying, I'll watch the game play on Youtube and read up about it and thats how I make my decision whether its a game I'd like or not before going out to Wal-Mart or Game Stop.

Ditto.  I'm a buyer, but it works out for me because I buy the ones that REALLY stand out to me, not just like "Oh, that looks interesting, I may pick it up." In that case, if it was available at Redbox, I'd probably rent it, but when I decide a game is worth a play-through, I commit and buy it.  I'm also very picky so it works out.  I probably buy a total of 6-9 games throughout the year, if that at times depending on the amount of releases I like coming out.  The rest I just replay.

rent for what i know for videogames doesn't exist anymore
sure their gamefly or redbox but those don't count

If it's a new game then I'm going to have to buy it. I know that at some point down the road I'll want to play it again or I will want to take a break and renting it makes no sense if you take breaks. Also, there aren't really any places to rent games now that Blockbuster and co have essentially gone the way of the dino. If it's an older game (classics or whatev) then I'll get it as a ROM. Unless I just want to own the game itself or playing it on its console enhances the game.

I can see the point of renting games just to either check them out and see if it's worth a full purchase, but I'm more on buying video games than renting.
