LONDON (Dec. 14) -- A man suspected of hacking his ex-girlfriend and her son to death apparently left a chilling message on his Facebook wall shortly before their bodies were found, British newspapers reported.
What a lovely job, Michael Kelly wrote, according to U.K. tabloid The Sun. Still, someone's got to do it!
The Daily Telegraph reported today that police arrested Kelly a few hours after the Facebook messages were posted.
Neighbors found mother of three Sally Cox, 43, and her 22-year-old son Martin Faulkner dead or dying at their home in the southern English town of Banbury on Monday morning, according to Sky News. Cox's teenage daughters, Amy, 19 -- who was badly injured in the attack -- and Katie, 13, reportedly ran screaming from the house and raised the alarm, reports The Sun.
The girls were heard shouting, Call the police. Call the police. Help. He's killing them!
Armed police who arrived at the scene found blood splattered on the walls and ceiling of the three-bedroom house.
Officers went to the address and were faced with a horrific scene, Detective Inspector Steve Duffy told the Telegraph. Cox was pronounced dead, and her son died soon after. It is thought he was fatally injured while trying to protect his mother.
A former line-dancing coach, Kelly was arrested two hours later at his home about 50 miles away. Facebook messages ascribed to Kelly and uncovered by The Sun show that the 45-year-old had become obsessed with Cox during a brief affair with the DHL employee, which began last December. But the posts on the social-networking site became increasingly sinister after their relationship ended late last month.
