Do you think girls in high school should be required to take birth control medication? If you think they should, why? If you think they should not, why?

I don't think so. Even if it would be beneficial in reducing teen pregnancy, the government should not be able to force people to put a substance into their body that they do not want in there.

Depends on the age, if you start giving birth control at 12, 13, 14, 15 year olds, it gets a bit weird, but they probably need them now days.

I would say no, but I think it should be available to all of them.

That.

It's unfair to force girls to take birth control pills, if they don't want to. That would probably go against the Health and Saftey office (*shudders*) in England.

Required??? Heck no. It's their decision not anyone elses. Do you think boys in high school should be required to wear a condom?

Hang on.... there was something about that in the Health Care Bill, but I'm not sure about the version that passed, or the fix that passed later, or the supplement that was tacked on.

No, I'm not kidding.

I'll go do a search when I get a chance and see what floats to the top.

Uh, why not? That sounds like a good idea.

Yeah, I agree with the idea above. Just like condoms are available for guys to use but not forced to, they should have birth control pills available for girls that want to use them.

Is it possible to overdose on birth control pills?

Guys don't have the problem of overdosing on condoms.

they are available in the usa any were you walk in to a clinic and ask you there for 2 hours the first time and anything after that they hand them to you and with condoms same deal you walk and ask for them and walk out

I agree with Nebulous's first post. I just think more emphasis should be placed on the education side of things

It's not even healthy for a lot of teenage girls to take birth control pills because they're still in puberty. The hormones in their bodies are already making a mess of things, so they really don't need any extra...

Yes.

Most birth control pills are some sort of hormone concoction. Too much of it can cause unpleasant complications, mood changes, and even the risk of cramps and bleeding, depending on the type, dose taken, and other medical conditions or medications she is on.
