Not as often as they should, according to one researcher, who argues that a lack of free play -- and fewer opportunities for children of different ages to mix -- may be responsible for the surge of mental health issues among today's children and adolescents.

I don't agree with this researcher. IMO, the surge of mental health issues among today's children and adolescents is called the internet. Children and adolescents are spending most of their free time playing games and talking with friends on various social networks. I also think that it's the parents that are causing issues as well. Parents are not spending enough quality time with their children and most don't even sit down as a family unit for meals. Parents need to get back to parenting and paying more attention to their children. That's my two cents worth.
