do you read upon some reviews before you buy a certain game? they can be very lengthy but useful, as they provide much information about the game, focusing on the features, aspects, gameplay, graphics and much more, along with some ratings to help you choose.

I read some from time to time. I think that it helps me choose the right game for me.

I don't buy too many games out of the blue. Usually I get them recommended to me by other people.
To answer the question, though, yes I do sometimes read reviews.

I try to look at reviews or i watch a lot of the gameplay before I take the plunge and get the game.
Being games are so expensive these days you cant really gamble on a game, otherwise you could waste a lot of money. Sure you can trade them back in, but you still dont get half as much as you paid for it back.

I used to, but after I continued to read them, I realized that--while I agreed with a lot of things some people said--there are just some things I don't agree upon and therefore do not base my decision on whether to get a game or not because of a review.

I don't look at reviews. Sometimes I play through 'bad' games out of curiousity. Prime example is Chrono Trigger, not talking about the official one, but rather the Famicom pirate. In that one, unlike the SNES official, the enemy's turn doesn't stop on battles. I completed it somehow. No cheating though.
