Is Rhyme important to a song?

I've heard a lot of people who prefer a good beat/rhythm, but what about the overall flow & rhyme scheme?

Rhyme is what makes a song catchy & upbeat to me. However, a song with good rhymes & rhythm is ideal.

I don't usually notice rhyming, sometimes it gets repetitive; that's the only reason I'd notice it. I don't mind it, it's not a component that stands out for me.

A lot of people only listen to the chorus/hooks.. When really they should be listing to the verse. I never actually paid attention to the verse until i started making my own music. I knew how hard it was to perform at times at write so i listen them now.. Rhyming is good to have but flowing is more of an catch for me..
