I still can't wrap my mind around why the kid was even there to begin with... It should be common sense for people to not trespass into peoples property without the owners consent.

It should be common sense but people around here dont seem to posses it. I was always catching people in my backyard where I used to live.

That's a shame Nebulous, sorry for your loss, good luck with the whole daughter bit.

. That is just really wrong. I can't believe some kid actually bought his dog out and allowed him to kill Nighty. Just wrong.

Also, get another rabbit and keep him inside, with a cage when you go out. They are so cute inside. And if it does something wrong, pull it's ears, what we do

Good Luck man <3 Sorry for the loss <3

Thanks for the comments.

I dont keep rabbits in the house. Well they can come in to visit but they live outside. They make too much of a mess. I can barely stand the litter box. It doesnt get too cold here where I live so they are fine outside. I just have to make sure I lock my gate up.

If I get another one, I want to get one that gets big. Nighty was a Neatherland Dwarf

I had a nightmare over this last night

I hope the kid that did this had one too

Sorry to hear that, I hope your daughter is OK when you tell her.

The same thing happened to my sister's rabbit wqhen I was living with my parents. Her best friend's brother was walking their dog, he got off his lead, jumped our fence, and managed to get to our rabbit.

His owners didnt even care.

People need to control their animals more. Its not the dog's fault. Its the owners fault.

Amen. You hit it right on with that last statement Nebulous. Sorry for the loss of Nighty, let us know how it goes telling your daughter.

Told my daughter today (well yesterday now). She thought I was joking and when we got home, she seen the cages were put away and there was no rabbit. She started crying.. She then drew a picture of nighty and hung it up on her wall in remembrance. I offered to buy her another pet (of her choice) to make her feel better but she said she doesnt want another animal right now.

She's a very smart 6 year old Nebulous. She needs to grieve in her own way and when she's ready for a new pet, she'll let you know. I send both you and your daughter a

Mind taking a picture of her drawing? It's sad, but it's cool how she expressed her feelings. I only would cry, never felt like drawing or anything.

Man, that's really sad, because I remember when I was little and I lost my pet hamster. I seriously thought the world was going to end, but luckily it didn't. Really good drawing, I wonder how I made it past kindergarten, I never could draw worth anything. Thanks for the share.

She lost her grandma (my mom) and her grandpa (her mom's dad) in the past couple years. She's a tough cookie. Today she's been fine. Yesterday the water works were going though.

Aww, what a wonderful drawing that is and thank you for sharing it.

I asked her why she didnt color the head... She said because we wouldnt be able to see her mouth and eyes.. lol
