The cover of Newsweek Magazine this week showed former VP candidate Sarah Palin in a pair of shorts. This picture was originally used in a magazine which talked to Sarah Palin about running in a marathon. What do you think? Was Newsweek trying to trivialize Sarah Palin by showing her as a good looking woman? Would they have dared to show Barack Obama in a swim trunks, while profiling his domestic policies? Discuss.

Its newsweek, not playboy... Just kidding

As they said: We chose the most interesting image available to us to illustrate the theme of the cover, which is what we always try to do”

The picture wasn't sexist or degrading to me. She seems to be starved for attention and craving the spotlight, so if anything, her reaction to this (playing the victim so people feel sympathy for her) is just upping her book sales.

I think people are far to sensitive now a days. Obama is a disgrace, Palin is being degraded..

People over think and over analyze everything.

Well, Palin would have every right to be sensitive. Sexism towards females was abundant during the campaign and after the campaign. They chose the most sloppiest picture out of 5 to put her in a negative light, probably.

I would not put it past anyone to be sexist towards Palin or any other female political figure.

I think people are too hateful towards women in politics. You are either too pretty or too butch looking to be taken seriously. I mean they always commented on what she wore instead of commenting on what she said. They even treat Michelle Obama like a precious babydoll. Who the hell cares what she's wearing.

Would a man have asked another man how would he manage his children if he became Vice President? No. But they surely asked Palin. Like, what was she supposed to say? She would manage her household the same way presidents and vice presidents before her managed their household while being in office. If no one saw the blatant sexism towards females during that campaign then they're most likely blind and deaf.

They are making Palin out too be the beautiful woman. Now don't get me wrong she is quite attractive. But I am not going too go out and buy her book because of it. Or because she, is campaining about how horrible her life is. It's kind of like who cares
