Remember, the country that is the home to the holy site of Mecca eventually sets the tone for the rest of Islam and the interpretation of Sharia.

Saudi women with sexy or tempting eyes may be forced to cover them up, according to a spokesperson for the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the news site Bikyamasr reports.

Bikyamasr quotes a spokesman of the Ha'eal district, Sheikh Motlab al-Nabet, as saying the group has the right to order women whose eyes seem tempting to shield them immediately.

The Mutwaheem (the Religious Police) are the ones that decide, and if they decide you are violating some tenant of Islam, at least their version of Islam, it is not unheard of that they impose capitol punishment on the spot.

Remember, these are the same pious individuals that effectively killed some young girls when their school caught fire because they weren't wearing their veils as they fled the fire.

This is Sharia.

Get used to it.

I'm sorry, but that's retarded. They were more concerned with their freaking lives them some damned veil.

NOTE TO ALL: This is NOT a religious discussion, this is about the legal system known as Sharia Law and its enforcement.

Sharia, Sharia Law

Islamic law in secular practice as under a theocracy or religious dictatorship. As seen in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries such as in Sudan with its Public Order Police.

I agree with both sides (if that is possible). The rule seems chauvinistic to only be based on a woman's looks first of all. At whose discretion is it to say a woman's eyes or any other facial features are provocative? Probably a man's...

But I see Dr. Leftover's point. Who are we to judge another culture on our own?

A good schism every few years does wonders... this is just sad.

Humans.

We've done it for thousands of years. Doesn't tend to end too well for either side, but it wouldn't be unusual.
