White Noise (Extended Version)

Word count: 411

Written by Fatal Dawn

[font=georgia, serif]
[font=georgia, serif]Oh’ box of obscure filter, pretty box of dancing white and silver. Inside,

[font=georgia, serif]I hear voices whisper, making my television antennae quiver.

[font=georgia, serif]Jolts trigger, from the T.V screen to my fingers to the buttons of the clicker.

[font=georgia, serif]Captivating scenes penetrated by a cocktail of screams,

[font=georgia, serif]It comes alive at night, jumping out my television screen.

[font=georgia, serif]The silence of the night, daggered by a deadly medley of noises

[font=georgia, serif]On the television set, where the white noise is.

[font=georgia, serif]Trembling noise from Hell’s very bowels-

[font=georgia, serif]Noise infiltrated by hideous growls. Insidious howls.

[font=georgia, serif]Unidentified. Unexplained - with a mystery untamed.

[font=georgia, serif]Voice of many waters hidden amongst the grain.

[font=georgia, serif]Is this electricity, static, or simply paranormal magic?

[font=georgia, serif]I turn to see the white noise after I changed the channel.

[font=georgia, serif]Again the white and silver scramble,

[font=georgia, serif]A portal of grand depths where the evil and the unknown are kept

[font=georgia, serif]In the white noise from my television set

[font=georgia, serif]Add the filter

[font=georgia, serif]Never identified and never explained,

[font=georgia, serif]Ghostly entities never tamed.

[font=georgia, serif]Hear the claims of rattling chains, the rain,

[font=georgia, serif]Voice of many waters hidden in the grain. Calling your name -

[font=georgia, serif]Voices crackling in the backdrop.

[font=georgia, serif]Chills run like currents at spots.. Hold that thought …

[font=georgia, serif]Something’s not right. Feeling watched at every angle,

[font=georgia, serif]Dim the candle

[font=georgia, serif]and listen to the turnings of a door handle.

[font=georgia, serif]You can feel your nerves rattling. Your body’s battling -

[font=georgia, serif]Trying to distinguish between reality and illusion...

[font=georgia, serif]It’s actually an infusion: a cocktail of dread and confusion.

[font=georgia, serif]A portal to other side: the under side conceals every ugly side.

[font=georgia, serif]Where darkness thrives lies another sleep deprived - specter. Helter skelter.

[font=georgia, serif]At your very side, they're ready to strike.

[font=georgia, serif]Grab you by your ankle and drag you feet first.

[font=georgia, serif]Stay silent. Stay on your toes. Prepare for the worst.

[font=georgia, serif]Hear the banging, spooked to your core; you ignore

[font=georgia, serif]My warning and rush to the door.

[font=georgia, serif]You try to escape, but the shadows corner your every turn,

[font=georgia, serif]They're laughing because you didn't learn – [font=georgia,serif]speak no ill of the dead.

[font=georgia, serif]Grab you by your throat; the pockets of your coat,

[font=georgia, serif]Going blind as you’re taken to the endless depths.

[font=georgia, serif]So go ahead and scream; you’ll only lose your voice -

[font=georgia, serif]Converted to a common casualty known as white noise...

[font=georgia, serif]Paranormal, beyond the realm of the way –

[font=georgia, serif]Spirits locked and left away.

[font=georgia, serif]Anonymously. Tempted to take your breath away,

[font=georgia, serif]So beware - your screams may fill the void.

[font=georgia, serif]The phenomenon known as white noise.

[font=georgia, serif]Remove the filter

Looking forward to seeing some more stories!

Last day to submit your scary story!

I was going to drop this in here just so there would be another entry. but it is WAY over 500 words. So, oh well.

But still, somebody may enjoy meeting the scary monkeys from a few years ago.

The monkeys are so cute.

Yeah. Until they kill you.
