Well my landlord has asked me to seal and wax one of her apartments. The whole apartment is tile, but its only a one bedroom. They just put new tile in and they want it to be preserved. So they asked me if i would do it. I said sure. Yesterday I went to buy the supplies from a specialty store (because you cannot buy that stuff from a regular store) to get the sealer and wax (officially called high gloss floor finisher or something like that). It came out to $75 for the supplies. I'm just going to charge them $50 for the labor because all I have to do is mop the tile a few times to get it clean (which I have already done) then I will start laying down the coats of sealer and wax (which I will do tomorrow). I figure I will do two coats of sealer and three or four coats of wax. It will take me all day as I have to wait a few hours between coats, but its okay. Im getting paid for it.

You should charge more than $50. (in my opinion)

But yeah--any extra money is extra money. Good job.

Good, easy money. Yeah, maybe you deserve a bit more, but it is not too much. Good luck on the waxing, hope it turns out to look great!

A pic of that new waxed tile floor would be nice.

Yeah I should have charged more but its always good to get on your landlord's good side. That way when you get too roudy or throw large parties, there wont be dire consequences.

She wanted me to make up an invoice.. Ive never done that before. I made one that looks sort of like this:

I don't know much about invoices, but it looks good.

It should say Amount Owed not Amount Paid. A receipt would say Amount Paid.

Well she already gave me the check for the money.

What do you plan to do with your $$$ ?

Ok all finished. Did two coats of sealer and four coats of wax. It looks AMAZING. Nothing like the satisfaction doing something well.

Nice work! You should taken before and after pics.

Nah Im not going to go to the store and buy batteries just so I can take pictures of some tile. Just imagine an EXTREMELY shiny floor that you could see yourself in.

Nice deal! in my opinion. Seems reasonable...
