Have you ever came across a forum with secret forums for certain members?

What goes on in those forums?

Why would a forum have a secret section that isn't visible to guests or even regular members?

Yep, it's pretty common. Either for staff or premium members, or in a couple of cases for the early founding members. A place to hang out :)

We have 3 secret forums here.

- Taboo Tavern - (18+ forum) that anyone can access, more info here: https://offtopix.com/threads/taboo-tavern-18-forum-access.20844/
- Elite Lounge - Pretty much the same as our General Discussion forum but only purple people eaters and staff can see it
- Staff Forum - for staff to talk about board issues privately

Why do we have them? ....Because I said so! :evillaugh:

I have two. One for forum owners to share info on spammers..and another one for members to discuss more personal matters. Guests and search engines have no access,

Elite Lounge? For 'elite' read 'elitist'.

I hate elitism and believe that no one is better than anyone else. This is why I decline to run for 'Member Of The Month'.

It's my politics talking, Neb. There is a political reason behind everything I do (and don't do).

Staff forums usually and down the road seen VIP/Elite status secret forums before. Oh, and even back in the days gender forums for men and women alike.

Yeah, the good ole' gendered forums to ask questions in private. I get it, to an extent, but...eh...

I don't think those would fly nowadays and would just not do gendered forums anymore.
Yeah, definitely not something that would be acceptable these days, I guess if it's a site that's had them since they were really a thing, but new sites wouldn't get away with it. Just not necessary, either.

I've seen male / female forums a bunch of times over the years. Usually its the opposite gender invading the forum and being more active than the gender it was intended for.

Particularly in the female-intended forums. "OMG, does boobs feels gud!?"

;)
