Seen the ocean?

Have you seen the ocean, in real life?

Been to a beach? Went out on a boat in the sea?

I'm sure some of us have never been...

xD This just seems like an awkward question to me, but yes, I have seen the ocean many times. I used to live in Surf City (Huntington Beach), and we went out all the time, weekly.

Every morning when I open by curtains it is right there in front of me.

One time when we were camping near the beach, we had an exceptional high tide with an onshore breeze, and, well, some of the Atlantic, through the Indian River Inlet, came to see us!

We had salt water lapping at the tires of the RV and the car for a couple of hours.

Fortunately, the tide didn't get any higher.

After that trip, my wife painted the view we had of the harbor warning light in the morning mist and haze.

Yes, I have been to the ocean and deep sea fishing numerous times.

The campground is across the Inlet from the Coast Guard Station, which often provided extra entertainment, and within walking distance of the beach and that jetty.

At night, you could fall asleep to the sound of the surf.

Seen the ocean more times than I can count.

I went deep sea fishing once too, didn't really find it that much fun.

Anyway, yeah, I've been to the beach often enough. Been a while though.

In the UK we're never more than an hour or so's drive from the nearest coast.
I painted the pic from a photo of my son and myself on the beach at Torquay when he was about five.

I live in West-Vlaanderen, the only provence in Belgium that has a coast line. So yeah. From my place, it's a 30-40 minute drive so that's not bad right?

I live maybe half an hour away from the beach at most, so I've definitely seen the beach faaaaaaaar too many times, haha.
