Sheriff David Clarke Jr was on The Kelly File last night to address the Ferguson shootings of two police officers. He said “war has been declared on the American police officer.”
“It’s unfathomable that we’ve gotten to this point in the United States,” he said, “but that was my biggest fear when President Obama and Eric Holder along with Bill de Blasio trashed the reputation of an entire profession.”
Clarke continued, “What do we get today? We get a tweet from the president of the United States that ‘violence against the police is unacceptable. Our prayers are with the officers…the path to justice is one all of us must follow together. Be all.'”
“That might score him points with hipsters but it’s not going over real big with me, and it’s not going over the American law enforcement officer.”
“When the attorney general invokes the name of Emmett Till and says that is symbolic of what happened in Ferguson, Missouri, Emmett Till wasn’t even a law enforcement involved case, those sorts of statements, they’re fanning the flames of racial discord.”
[Barack Obama appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show last night and said the protests were just but they shouldn’t be committing crimes. Shooting officers is “unacceptable”, he said. Compare that to how he acted when Michael Brown was shot.]
