I've never been the kind of person to "put all my eggs in one basket". I've learned from other people when you do that that you're setting yourself up for potential devastation of your entire world. It's not healthy, I feel, to give yourself entirely to one person. It's good to have friends and hobbies, a job outside of the relationship so that you're not depending on one person.
