I'm about to get a little melancholy like with this.



My sister is 15 now... I can really hardly believe it. She's growin' so quickly ya know? I can barely deal with it. I still see her as my baby sister. And now she has this boyfriend and it makes me all uncomfortable and stuff cause she's all huggy huggy like with him. And I wanna protect her you know? Cause I'm a guy and I know how us guys tend to think. But yeah.. part of it is just me still seeing her as my little baby sister.
 
That's sweet. But yeah--I understand what you mean. And I can go one better than that---my husband took to his bed when I got our daughter her first bra.... He moaned about it all weekend.....

He knew--as you do--what guys are like, and he was absolutely terrified that one day his little girl would meet someone that was like him as a teen....lol

She might not appreciate you right now, but there will be times that she'll just want her Big Brother to protect her, give her a shoulder to cry on, and beat the crap out of the bastard that breaks her heart....

Thanks you two. And it helps he lives down the street from me. So I can go down there if he hurts her and do something to him involving a shovel.
 
Ive never had a little sister so I dont really know how to relate to that one. But my daughter is only 9 years away from being 15. I'll enjoy her being a little kid right now and cross that bridge when I come to it.
 
I remember being 15 and just adoring my big brother. I also remember hoping he'd beat the crap out of a certain guy that hurt my feelings. I never asked, but it was nice to know that if I did--he would.....
 
I'm the same, although my sister is only 12. But it's so wierd, it's like it was yesterday when she was 2.
 
I have a sister who is 16, a couple years older than me, but only one grade ahead of me, so I'm technically her little brother, but I'm bigger than her so I sort of see myself as her bigger brother. I don't care if guys like her and/or hug/kiss her, but I won't let them get freaky with her, if you know what I mean. Protecting her has nothing to do with keeping her from dating/liking guys, face it, she doesn't jump on you for liking girls does she? If so, that's weird. But yeah, just try to loosen up and see things from her perspective. She's 15, young, and that's about the time you start meeting people and dating, but I do know what you mean. It's tough at first, but you just have to remember that she is going to be herself, and you should be there for her when she falls down, but don't push her down just to be able to help her up. Hope that makes sense.

I think it does make sense.
 
I am friends with this family, the girl is 14 and her two brothers are older than her. She got angry with her eldest brother cause he would see flirty comments from guys on her Facebook to her, and then want to go punch them. But it's really nice that he cares so much for her. He's never hit anyone but like Princess said, I think she likes that he sticks up for her really.

I never had an older brother but I always wanted someone like that, someone I could feel would stick up for me if need be.
 
I have never necessarily had a younger sister, well I have due to my mother being highly involved in foster care however, the only ones that I ever got close to were around three or so years old not to much protection for them is needed, atleast from me so I truly have no idea what you're going through on this specific subject.

Not really, I may not know exactly what it feels like to have a high protection toward someone however, I know what it's like to have someone very close to me removed from my life, one of the foster sisters stayed for almost three years and I was really close toward her so it feels like my real sister was kidnapped but of course with the knowledge of her location.
